Brabinger was a loving and devoted companion for 15 years. He would talk to me and follow me about, he would sit on the counter or the vanity while I got ready in the morning, he would sit on my desk while I worked, and he was always there for me when I was sad and needy. He was a beautiful boy and I considered him my son and my baby.
A friend of mine, Pamela, introduced me to a lady who had taken in Brab and his sister as strays. They were both skittish from having started life feral. But, Brabinger was a little more brave and this lady agreed to let me have him. She had named him Pepper because of his orange/ginger/red coat. But, I was fond of the name Brabinger, which came from a character in a British comedy, called "To The Manor Born," which PBS aired at the time. So, when I got him in February of 1985, he was named Brabinger.
He lived with me in 2 different homes in Salt Lake, 1 home in Idaho, 3 homes in Los
Angeles, and 2 homes here in Maryland. Throughout, he was devoted to me and adapted to
each place we went because home was where we were together. Our home seems a little more
empty now without him. Our family of four is now only a family of three, but Brabinger
will stay in our hearts forever. He was a sweet soul whom I miss immensely. I love you
Brabinger. And I will always remember you, my little bubakitty.
